The early and final submission deadlines for our award winning literary and visual arts magazine will be announced soon!
WHO CAN SUBMIT
Any current student at USCA is eligible to be published in Broken Ink.
There is no limit on how many pieces you can submit.
WHAT WE ACCEPT
We welcome all forms of expression from our student body. You don’t need to call yourself an “artist” to submit. We welcome paintings and sculptures, poetry and prose, fiction and nonfiction, music and spoken word. We also accept scribbles and doodles, digital and physical art, games, films, drawings on the backs of envelopes. All subject matter and content is up for consideration.
We want to hear what you have to say first, not dictate what you can say. We want to be surprised, and we want to surprise everyone with what we can publish.
A NOTE ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Originality is complicated. So is copyright law. As a publication, we are obligated to follow the legal principle of intellectual property, and we may be forced to refuse to publish works that are fresh and creative simply because they are considered in violation under the United States Copyright Code.
If you are unsure whether your work is in violation of Copyright Law (eg. sampling, remix, collage, photomanipulation, etc.), write us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you determine if your work is legal to reproduce, and what steps can be taken to procure the appropriate license.
